Marseille Open Door To Drogba

Marseille sporting director Jose Anigo has spoken fondly about Drogba's time at the club and insisted they are patiently awaiting his return. Anigo left the door open by saying  "Didier's still playing for a big club which means he has several years still ahead of him. "I hope he won't be too old the day he decides to come back to Marseille. His story with Marseille is not finished."

Despite only spending one season with the French club before his £24m move to Chelsea he is still seen as a club legend. In his solitary season he was in top form managing to score 19 goals in 35 games. A jersey from that season hangs in the basilica of Marseille's Notre Dame de la garde, he had presented it to the church prior to the 2004 UEFA cup final.
