Liverpool look set a launch a £10m bid for Ipswich's teenage sensation Connor Wickham. The 17-year old striker who is seen as a star of the future first came to prominence during the U17's European Championship's last May. The 6ft 3in striker scored both of England's goals in their semi final victory over France and the winner in the final against Spain.
Interest in the striker is known to be high with Arsenal, Chelsea and Spurs all having approaches rejected recently. Hodgson has been tracking him since his time at Fulham and is hopeful of stealing a march on his competitors by snapping up the talented youngster in January.
