Jonny Evans has voiced his frustration at his lack of first team football in recent weeks. Since the return of Rio Ferdinand from injury, Evans hasn't featured once in the league. He stood in for the England captain at the beginning of the season when the United defence looked uncharacteristically careless, letting in a series of sloppy and late goals. The Northern Irish international said "It's been really frustrating really, I was in at the start but then one or two performances weren't up to scratch. I know if I don't play well the manager can't pick me so I have just got to wait for my chance." Evans may find his chanced restricted further since the emergence of Chris Smalling who made the English squad for the friendly defeat against France.
