Celtic Bid For Odd Ball Ireland
Glasgow Celtic are understood to have made a loan offer for out of favour midfielder Stephen Ireland. It mirrors their signing of Irish international Robbie Keane on loan last season. Irealand has said he'd prefer to stay in England but if no big clubs come in for him he'd consider the move. Villa boss Gerard Houllier is believed to be fed up with lack of effort the Irishman puts into his training and is prepared to let him go. Villa Chairman Randy Lerner wants to look for a sale but would consider getting him off the wage bill as he currently earns about £60,000.
